How to Place a Hold

To access the catalogue, click on the TracPac link.  The java applet make take a minute to load. Once the program is loaded, follow these steps:

1. Locate the search field located on the upper right side of the screen. The search line allows you to search by keyword for a title, author, or subject.

2. If you wish to do a more advanced search simply click on advanced search located just below the keyword search line. When the page loads simply type in the information you seek, in either the title, author or subject fields or any combination of those fields and click the "Search" button. You will receive a list of books (or authors/subjects, depending how you are searching).

3. Click on the title you want and Show Details on the bottom right. You will get a detailed description of the book. If this is the book you want, proceed to step 4, otherwise use the Back arrow in the java applet to enter a new search. Do Not Use the Back button on your browser as it will jump you right out of the catalogue!

4. Click on Place Hold and follow the menu prompts. You will need the barcode number from your library card in order to place a hold. On the last page select "Bibliotheque Dentinger" as your pick up location.

If you have problems using this service, please ask the library staff for a demonstration.
Remember you can place holds on books that are not in the Falher Library, but may be in the Peace Library System. If you cannot find them through PLS, you might want to try The Alberta Library (TAL) Online. You can also ask staff to place a hold for you.

How to renew your items

Go to the trac pac shortcut on left hand side of this page.

1. Select MY ACCOUNT from the tabs on the upper right hand side of the screen. It will ask you for you for your barcode number from your library card(no spaces). If entered correctly, you should see your name and address appear on the screen.

2. Next, choose Items Out from the left-hand menu to see the list of items you have currently checked out.

3. Click on the title(s) of the book(s) you wish to renew (use the CTRL key to select more than one book) and click on the Renew button. If successful, you will see message saying "All the items you have selected have been successfully renewed".

Note: Items may be renewed up to two times, however if there are holds on the item you will not be allowed to renew it.
We hope using the Online Catalogue will improve our service and help you find the items you need. If you have any questions about this service or anything else about the library, please contact us. You can also call the library and staff will renew your books for you.
