  • A maximum of 4 people will be allowed in the library at a time.
  • Your name, date, time of entry and phone number will be recorded, in case COVID-19 contact tracing is required.
  • Only two public computers will be available (for adult use only, max 30 min).
  • Staff will be working behind plexiglass sneeze barriers, and will put on masks when leaving their desks to assist patrons or CERC clients.

September 2020 - Update

COVID-19 Board Update

Falher Library / Bibliothèque Dentinger

Our Updated Business Continuity Plan as of June 2, 2020

We will continue to offer virtual services and remote support, and starting in July will add:

1.  Our Summer Reading Program will be offered online.

 2.  Our book return will reopen on June 30th

  • All physical items currently checked out are due July 31st, so you have lots of time.  We will be quarantining returned items for several days before checking them in, so they will remain on your account longer than usual.  We will waive late fees that result due to this process.

 3.  All of our existing library memberships will be extended, until we reopen to the public

  • If your card came due after March 17th, it currently has already been reset to July 31st.
  • If you haven’t already taken advantage of the free TRAC card access offered by the Peace Library System at Get-A-Library-Card, make sure to do so soon, because….

 4. We will be offering limited, appointment-only curbside pickup, starting July 3rd, by appointment.

  • This service will only be available for items from our local collection.
  • Details on how to search for these items are posted here
  • Local library cards will continue to have full TRAC access to allow you to search for, and request items online, by email, or by phoning the Library at 780-837-2776, in addition to reading online, until we reopen to the public.
  • Our staff continue to work primarily from home, so please email or leave a voice message (780) 837-2776 and they will get back to you.
  • Our next Board meeting is scheduled for September 1, 2020.

Please check the SRRED Community Calendar at

for details on how to participate closer to the date, or contact the Board by email at if you have questions / concerns, or are interested in adding your voice to the Board.

Our Updated Business Continuity Plan as of April 7, 2020

The library building remains closed with no public access until further notice
Message From The Library Board and Library Staff
Covid-19 Board Update
Falher Library / Bibliothèque Dentinger

Our Updated Business Continuity Plan as of April 7, 2020

The library building remains closed with no public access until further notice.  Protecting our staff and communities is our priority, and we will only reopen when guidance from Alberta Public Health officials indicates the risk from COVID-19 has significantly subsided.

In the meantime, our staff are working to support you behind the scenes, and finding ways to keep services going despite being closed to the public.   Plan to visit the Library website or our Facebook page often to keep help connected with us and others in your community.

If you do not already have a library card, please click on this link Get-A-Library-Card to apply for FREE access provided by the Peace Library System (PLS) to support the residents of all PLS municipalities during this difficult period.

Our staff are providing library and employment service support online, by phone and email, for reference questions, and as tech support to walk you through how to access:

1) Extensive provincial library e-resources using your personal devices (e-Books, e-Audiobooks, e-Magazines, e-Newspapers, Early Literacy resources and Homework Help, and more in English and French), and

2) How to search and apply for work, EI, and also we will provide basic information and links to resources and information on current Job Postings, Alberta Supports resources, and Provincial & Federal COVID-19 financial aid programs for both employees and employers.

If you do not have access to the internet at home, you can access library WiFi from our parking lot, using your library card and password, with your personal device.  Please practice safe social distancing, and do this from the safety of the inside of your parked car.  This video from Alberta Health Services is a great visual on how we can all do our part to help prevent the spread by social distancing.

Based on provincial advice and concerns about the life span of the virus on virtually any surface (including paper), the circulation of ALL physical library materials has been suspended.  Our book return is closed, but you won’t be charged late fees on any items you have on loan.

Please do not share your library items with anyone outside of your household, since the circulation of these materials may unintentionally cause further spread of the virus within our community.

A Letter From the Library Staff - Covid 19 Update

As mentioned above the Falher library will be closed to the public for the forseeable future. Though that may seem daunting, I am still here to help! I will be working from home to answer all of your questions via Facebook, email, and phone. Feel free to contact me in any of these ways and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Some of the things that I can help you with are:

- Accessing AND training for the myriad of e-resources we have for our patrons.

- Renewing book and memberships.

- Help resetting passwords and updating account information.

- Providing you with all kinds of tools and resources on our facebook page.

Again, no one will be able to enter the library or interact with us one one one at this time but we will work hard to solve any problems and answer any questions that you may have for us. Please see our contact information below:
